*Nightmarish Updates*- 2019

What can I say? I've been slacking with my blogs. I finally took a siesta regarding my latest book, "Karma" and am getting back to writing about things that I really enjoy: like my hobbies :-)

I watched the movie, "Beyond the Gates" which was a film that came out in 2016 starring: Barbara Crampton, Brea Grant, Chase Williamson, and Graham Skipper.

I still need to write up a review, but because I watched it over a year ago, I need to revisit and watch it again in order to give a fair write up on it. I remember liking the movie, and wishing that they could have expanded more regarding the gate and being thrown into another realm. I do, however, understand that due to budget constraints, they most likely simply didn't have the funds for more special FX, etc.

In other news, the creators of the "Nightmare" board game series, "A Couple of Cowboys" out of Australia, have announced that along with a company called Hijink Toys, will be re-launching the game, "Atmosfear" which over here in the USA, was called, "Nightmare" but the same game and player pieces, etc.

I am super excited about this news and will keep my blog updated when I learn more about a relaunch!!!

Movie Inspired by Nightmare?!!

I recently was told about a movie that came out in 2016 that contains a story line similar to the Nightmare board game series. A group of friends find a board game with a VHS type and decide to play, etc etc.

It is currently available on Netflix, but I haven't watched it yet! I am super excited to watch this film and see what it is really all about. When I DO watch it, I will post a little review here :-)

Has anyone who's seen my blog about the Nightmare board game series seen or heard of this film?

Last week I found a Nightmare promotional pin from the early 90's on Ebay- was so jazzed!  I ended up buying it and the cost was under $5 (including shipping!)

First Time- Playing Nightmare II!!

Super excited, tonight my husband Tony and I are going to play the Nightmare II board game for the first time!

This spooktacular game is hosted by the Baron Samedi and if you don't say, "Yo Baron, I can dig it" in time, you will be banished to the black hole!  Oh no!!!

We'll be playing this later in the evening after it's dark because for this game, atmosphere is everything.

Here are some pictures I took during the game.  With the expansion games, they are harder and go a lot quicker than the original Nightmare game.  Tony kept ending up in the black hole and I ended up winning/beating the Baron with 2 minutes to spare so it was a close call!

Another Awesome Find on Ebay!

About a week ago I came across a listing for an "Atmosfear" jigsaw puzzle.  Its rare and was only ten dollars so I had to grab it up before someone else did!  There were four or five watchers on it so I'm glad I purchased it. :-)

I got it in the mail the other day and wanted to share some pictures.  No, its not a board game, however, its still a rare collectible item for lovers of the "Atmosfear/Nightmare" series.  There are 3 missing pieces, but all three are on the very bottom of the puzzle picture so it doesn't cut into any of the actual picture, only three spots of the border/frame on the bottom.

I am in an Atmosfear Fan Club on Facebook and noticed in 2012 the actress Frederique Fouche posted some photos of behind the scenes when she filmed "Nightmare III"- she was Anne de Chantraine.  Then she also played Elizabeth Bathory in "Nightmare IV"- so cool she shared these photos.  I wanted to share them in this blog!

I found this awhile back and was just laughing my @ss off!  Someone spoofed this "making of Nightmare III" and put their own take/twist on it.  Very well done and very convincing!
